Year of Reflection, Resilience, and Renewal
Looking Back on 2025 – and Ahead to 2026
As we close out another year, I find myself reflecting on everything 2025 has brought—both the joys and the heavy moments that have shaped my life and social circle. This year held triumphs, new beginnings, unfinished projects, and heartbreaking losses. Through it all, I'm so grateful to have a beautiful community that shares strength, compassion, and a willingness to lift each other up.
Honouring a Year of Loss and Compassion
2025 was a difficult year for many. As I made calls to invite everyone to the annual "Oh deer, what a year" party,(Vegas Night was the theme this year), I soon realized the weighty matters so many others had also been experiencing
... personal illness or tragedy, goodbyes—family members, young lives gone too soon, friends grieving unimaginable losses. This awareness reminded me how fragile and precious our connections truly are and also how important it is to stay in touch with each other.
To everyone who is enduring ill health or suffering loss this year, you're in my heart and prayers. May the coming year bring comfort, healing, and gentle moments of peace.
Community, Connection, and Moving Forward
Despite the challenges, 2025 brought growth in small, meaningful ways. After losing my little doggie Jelly Bean, I discovered EDDIE'S network. They have developed a great system for finding lost pets. And it works! I got my little Jelly Bean back. So now I donate and volunteer in posting bulletins, and searching when I can.
I continue to work on deepening relationships, giving more one-on-one time to family and friends, and reconnecting with the people who matter most.
For any in caregiving roles, including myself, this year has reminded me how extensive that role can be, however it is equally important to pause, breathe, and protect our own well-being as fiercely as we care for others.
Updates & What’s Ahead for 2026
Glenarm Hall / Church Initiatives
While we’ve been in a holding pattern with permits, we haven’t been idle. This year taught us the value of using waiting seasons wisely. In 2026, the plan is to:
Launch a community Facebook group
Share updates and behind-the-scenes progress
Create posts about the Hall’s history, future, and community purpose.
Gather input from locals on what they’d like to see offered
Build momentum so that when the paperwork moves forward, we can hit the ground running
MYG Cosmetics (Business Growth & Development)
As we step into the new year, there are exciting goals on the horizon:
Exploring new training and certifications to expand services
Considering new offerings that better serve the community
Participating in at least one trade show or local vendor event
Strengthening community outreach and awareness
Personal & Home Goals
Many of us have that “never-ending” household list—and 2025 is about approaching it with grace, not pressure. My own plan is simple:
Set aside one afternoon each week to chip away at home projects
Prioritize tasks that bring calm, order, and comfort
Finally tackle the sewing pile, trim painting, backsplash, garage, closets, and drawers—one small step at a time
Small, consistent action beats overwhelming pressure every time.
Looking Ahead With Hope
As we welcome 2026, I’m choosing to focus on:
✨ Strengthening relationships
✨ Setting healthy boundaries
✨ Continuing community growth
✨ Allowing space for joy, rest, and renewal
✨ Showing up with intention instead of exhaustion
A big Thank you to everyone who does their part in supporting one another
...in the family, in your immediate social circle, in the community and in this world. Community is something we build together—and 2025 will be a year of rebuilding, reconnecting, and refreshing our purpose.
Here’s to a new year filled with healing, progress, and hope.
Wishing you all a gentle close to 2025 and a hopeful, uplifting start to 2026
